Serhii Komar builds games the hard way—by doing. He taught himself to code with a worn programming book and a stubborn drive to make things people want to play. His first mobile puzzle game didn’t just prove he could finish something—it showed that a hobby could grow into a company. When his first studio went under, he didn’t fold. He sold his apartment, moved into his office, and went all-in on a second chance. That gamble paid off. Shifting to free-to-play opened the door to a publishing deal, steady revenue, and a path to long-term growth. Since then, Serhii has launched multiple game studios, scaled teams, and shipped hits. He’s navigated publisher deals, monetization systems, and the chaos of turning a scrappy prototype into something that can hold its own on the charts. He’s worked lean, built big, and learned to survive in a fast-moving industry. He’s also shared what he’s learned—on stage, in classrooms, podcasts, and in one-on-one mentorships with up-and-coming devs. These days, you’ll find him split between parenting a newborn, arguing about design balance with his wife (a game programmer, too), and writing about game strategy and studio life on LinkedIn and Twitter.
