Dr. Morris is a physician, executive, writer, and speaker whose nontraditional path fuels a passion for integrating business and leadership principles with medical education and healthcare delivery. With a formal education and experience in business, management, and leadership prior to entering medical school, Dr. Morris earned his medical degree from Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine then completed Internal Medicine Residency at Magnolia Regional Health Center (MRHC) in Corinth, MS. For over a decade in community-based medical education he led clinical, administrative, and academic teams to new achievements by integrating patient care, quality and safety, and the business principles foundational to modern systems-based practice. Now, he pays the lessons from those experiences forward as author of the book Let Me Lead: Escaping the Experience Bias and Excelling as an Early-Career Professional and speaks nationally on a variety of topics relevant to medical students, physicians, and early career professionals. Dr. Morris currently works in managed care, remains active in both academic and clinical medicine, and continues his commitment to professional service as President-elect of the American Osteopathic Foundation among other regional and national roles.
