Seconde Nimenya is the author of five books, including her most recent, "Unlocking Diversity: Your Guide to Becoming an Inclusive Leader Beyond Surface Level," a timely and thought-provoking book that challenges assumptions and the status quo on the topics of race, equity, and inclusion in the workplace and our communities. Seconde has spent more than a decade as a thought leader on diversity and inclusion in a world of differences. Through her leadership development programs, she advocates for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace, education, and communities. Seconde speaks in various conferences and seminars, inspiring and empowering her audiences to use their life experiences to better themselves and others. She works with organizational leaders who want to build inclusive workplaces and communities where everyone feels accepted for who they are and what they bring to the world, to make it a better place for all. Seconde is an inspirational speaker, diversity and inclusion trainer, and advocate. With more than fifteen years of multicultural leadership experience, Seconde is an authority on diversity and inclusion in the workplace and educational institutions, debunking stereotypes and biases, and sharing skills on resilience and overcoming adversity to foster personal and professional growth. Seconde immigrated to North America in the 1990s and came to the United States by way of Canada. She holds a Master's in business administration and a Graduate Certificate in Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Leadership from Harvard University, and uses her varied educational and multicultural background to inspire and empower her audiences. She has received several awards, including the international book award for her memoir, "Evolving Through Adversity," a story of her life journey in which Seconde shares the life lessons she has learned along the way to inspire others to overcome challenges in life. Seconde has received recognition for her work in diversity, equity, and inclusion, and in bridging the gaps between diverse and multicultural communities. She is a TED speaker on race and cultural identity, and her talk titled “We Are Not All That Different” continues to inspire people worldwide.
