In the past Sarah worked as an architect, a university professor and an urban development consultant, before becoming a full-time author. She is married with three children and divides her time between England and Japan, writing and looking after two very old houses. When she’s not writing, Sarah loves reading, painting, cooking, travelling, singing and playing jazz. Her debut title, the best-selling middlegrade trilogy 'SeaBEAN' is now in its 4th edition and is taught in schools across the UK and around the world. In addition to her two previous YA novels, 'Chameleon' and 'blackloop', Sarah has also published a poetry anthology, 'How to Write a Poem'. She regularly gives talks and creative writing workshopsin primary and secondary schools. Sarah's latest novel, 'Road to True North', a coming-of-age story set in Iceland, comes out this month.
