Sarah Clein is an ICF Professional Certified Coach, consultant, and founder of The Knackered Women's Club. She's the ex-public sector insider who has spent over 30 years watching brilliant midlife women leaders slowly burn out. She knows what it's like to cry on the way to work, to wear more lippy and concealer while donning your corporate armour. To love the public sector and have the words run through you like a stick of rock and wonder "Is this it?" while you've still got another 10-15 years to go. With a professional background in public health, she’s worked across the NHS, local government, and civil service, in leadership roles spanning education, public health, commissioning, policy development and transformation. She's survived the toxic organisations, the endless restructures and the slow realisation that the cavalry isn't coming. In 2014, Sarah set up her consultancy. In 2019, she retrained as a coach and has worked with hundreds of knackered midlife women leaders to help them lead better or leave well. No cheerleading. No BS. Just honest tools and hard-won wisdom. The Knackered Women's Club, her podcast, newsletter, and coaching practice, is for midlife women in the NHS, local government, and civil service who are too tired to pretend everything's fine. Her signature programme, Knackered to Nailing It, tackles burnout, menopause, work-life balance, and career transitions with the practical wisdom of someone who's been there. Originally trained as a counsellor, Sarah brings deep listening skills and zero tolerance for BS to her coaching practice. She delivers leadership programmes for public sector organisations and co-leads a programme helping public sector professionals transition to coaching careers through learning marketing and business development skills. She is also a coach supervisor and accredited burnout coach. Outside of work, she very happily remarried in 2022 and has two teenage sons, lives in Shropshire with a dog called Ralph and far too many cats. Her spare time is spent feeding, ferrying or financing her sons, buying more books for the hoard, exercising at the gym or painting with acrylics. She believes that you should always try and leave humanity better than you found it. That no woman should have to choose between her career and her sanity and that the cavalry isn't coming, you have to be your own rescue mission.
