Samantha (Sam) Plavins is a Canadian adventurer, writer, and staunch advocate for reclaiming lost time. In 2019, after years of chasing success in the finance world, she walked all 800 km of the Camino de Santiago and had an epiphany: her career was slowly killing her. So she followed a new path and launched a hiking company in 2020. She Walks the Walk was all about urging women to step off the treadmill and put themselves on the bloody list. She led her clients on epic journeys to Norway, Tanzania, Guatemala, and Jordan. It was exactly as good as it sounds. Until life, as it tends to do, had other plans. When not adventuring, Sam is usually looking for her lost phone, dispensing unsolicited advice to her two daughters, or plotting her next escape with Alvi, her husband and favourite human. They live in Thunder Bay, Ontario, along with their lovable and slightly neurotic sheepadoodle, Mia. The Sam I Am is her first book. She is currently working on her debut fiction trilogy: an adventure romance set in the mountains of Ecuador. Expect longing, danger, and an updated genre she likes to call “Romanture.”
