Sally-Anne Martyn is an Amazon best selling author who writes dark psychological thrillers and horror. Growing up in a small Peak District village seeped in strange ancient traditions, it was inevitable this would feed into her books. She grew up on a diet of Hammer House and Tales of the Unexpected and began watching and reading horror far too young (according to some!). After completing a course in Performing Arts, she had a multitude of jobs. An auxiliary nurse in one of the last Victorian asylums in England (see The Clinic), the props department on the film Gladiator and an Au Pair in Columbus Ohio...to name but a few.

Away from writing in the dark, she loves animals, in particular dogs. All of her books so far have featured a dog (don't fear, all live to tell the tale), her next book 'The Witch Elm' released October 30th 2026 has expanded to a very special cat and many, many crows.
