Nicknamed “She-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Tamed” by the media, Lucia Kanter St. Amour’s book "For the Forces of Good: The Superpower of Everyday Negotiation" shot to #1 Best Seller within 10 days of release in September 2022. A VP for UN Women USA (San Francisco), attorney action figure, and featured by the UK fashion magazine "Violet Simon" as a Top Woman Disruptor, Lucia is one of a small handful of women experts and authors on negotiation.  Launched in February 2022, her podcast, "Forces of Good: The Superpower of Everyday Negotiation," garnered an immediate dedicated following for its inclusive storytelling and social-cultural-historical approach to negotiation as it relates to everyone every day ("It's not just for business; it's everybody's business!"). Practicing law since 1998, she was also faculty for twenty years teaching negotiation and mediation at University of California law schools at Berkeley and San Francisco. She has lectured at various prominent law and business schools in the United States and Europe and served for some years as an annual competition judge and mediator for the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris. One of the designers of the pilot mediation program for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in 1996, Lucia has a deep background in mediation and earned her mediation certification on-site from the Harvard Law School Program on Negotiation, where only 44 people globally were invited into the program. In May of 2023, Lucia released her children's fable, "The Money Fairy," co-authored by her son, Thanael Kanter; and in February 2024, she released her third book, "Moms Get Mad." Lucia's fourth book--an epic, dual-timeline, women's historical fiction novel based on primary sources and true characters and events--is estimated to release fall of 2025. An unapologetic bellwether, Lucia is the passionate and fastidious mother of five boys (three canine and two human) and founder and executive director of Spectrum Strategies, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing siblings support, and dog matching and training to families of children with autism. Studied in six languages, a pianist, an athlete, and a home cook of really legitimate Italian cuisine, she lives with her family in the San Francisco Bay Area.
