S. A. Jenkins is a British author whose fiction explores ordinary people caught up in extraordinary circumstances, with stories rooted in friendship, regret, family, obsession and the complicated choices people make along the way.

Based in Worcester, England, Jenkins has spent much of his working life in the creative industries, but storytelling has always been central to his world. His writing is strongly influenced by music, British social history, and the places and characters he encounters over a lifetime.

His debut novel, The Trouble with Terry Winter, combines mystery, dark humour and human drama against the backdrop of record collecting and the British jazz world. At its heart, however, it is a story about friendship, the things we leave unresolved and how the past has a habit of finding its way back to us.

Away from writing, Jenkins is an obsessive record collector and music lover, produces and DJs under the name BoomClap with multiple releases on British deep house label Atjazz Record Company, and can frequently be found beside a river somewhere in the English countryside with a fishing rod and considerably more optimism than sense.

He lives in Worcestershire and is currently working on his next novel.
