I’m a fiction writer based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where I live with my husband and our spirited rescue pup. I’m endlessly drawn to the past—especially the hidden corners of history that surface in old newspapers and forgotten headlines. That’s how The Raffle Baby began: with a single, astonishing story from the Great Depression that wouldn’t let me go.

When you read my work, I hope you feel swept up in a lyrical current, encounter a touch of whimsy, and meet characters who linger in your heart long after the last page.

Below, I’ve shared a few of my favorite novels. I hope you find something here that speaks to you.

🔷 Year of Wonder, Geraldine Brooks
🔷 The Last Days of Dogtown, Anita Diamant
🔷 News of the World, Paulette Jiles
🔷 The Two Pound Tram, William Newton
🔷 Zorrie, Laird Hunt
