Russ Sawyer, a retired Air Force Security Forces Veteran based in Lynchburg SC, is a firearms instructor, avid outdoorsman, and podcast producer for "The Angery American nation Podcast", "The Eden Army Podcast with Pete Robertucci", "Mountain Readiness", and "Rebuilding Hollers - Come Hell or Highwaters"/ After writing during dialysis treatments, he took a hiatus following his 2014 transplant, finishing the novel in 2025 with encouragement from Angery American and Pete Robertucci. He lives with his wife, Theresa, and their dogs, Matilda and Daisy, and is a fixture at preparedness events.
