Roy Sharples is a Scottish-American author, entrepreneur, and executive. Over more than 25 years, he has built products, businesses and organisations across Microsoft, Amazon and founder-led ventures, giving him a close view of how ideas become real and what happens when they do.

His first book, Creativity Without Frontiers, looks outward at creativity: imagination, making and the movement of ideas through organisations and culture.

His novel, Alchemy of the Imperfectionists, turns inward. Through the story of an art-tech founder returning to Edinburgh after success has begun to lose its meaning, it explores ambition, identity and the uneasy relationship between what we create and what creating it can make of us.
