Ronnie Greene is the author of three books of nonfiction and an investigative editor for ProPublica in Washington. He spent much of his career with The Miami Herald before moving to DC, where his roles included Washington Enterprise Editor for Reuters and Chief Investigative Reporter for Bloomberg Law. As an editor and reporter, Greene's journalism has been honored with the Pulitzer Prize, the Harvard Goldsmith Prize for Investigative Reporting, an Emmy Award and two American Bar Association Silver Gavel Awards. Other projects were finalists for the Pulitzer Prize. His book, Shots on the Bridge: Police Violence and Cover-up in the Wake of Katrina, earned the Investigative Reporters and Editors Book Award. Greene earned a journalism degree from VCU and a master's degree in nonfiction writing from Johns Hopkins University, where he teaches graduate writing.
