Romany Romany is the only woman ever to win both the Las Vegas World Magic Awards and The Magic Circle Stage Magician of the Year. She performs her award-winning, visual comedy magic show in theatres, at corporate events, and on luxury cruise ships worldwide, has appeared on television with Penn & Teller on Fool Us, and has been invited to perform for both Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles III. From childhood, Romany dreamed of showbusiness — spotlights, velvet curtains, and dazzling costumes. But told she was “the wrong shape” for the stage, and with her parents’ firm belief in the security of “a good job,” she went to university and entered a corporate sales career instead. At 26, corporate burnout hit hard. She resigned, enrolled in magic classes, and began chasing the dream she’d never let go of. Seventeen years later, she became the first and only woman to win the World Magic Awards in Las Vegas and went on to be named The Magic Circle Stage Magician of the Year. Today, fully recovered from her long battle with bulimia and anxiety, Romany shares her journey in her memoir Spun Into Gold – The Secret Life of a Female Magician, inspiring audiences worldwide to follow their own path to joy and recovery.
