As an operating CEO and consultant, Robert Sher is obsessed with answering the question: What drives growth for midsized companies? After building and selling Bentley Publishing Group, a midsized art publishing business, he founded his consulting firm, Mastering Midsized. Its mission is to provide leaders of midsized businesses with advice on how to maximize growth… and do it in a way that is sustainable and predictable. Knowing he could make an impact; Robert began to determine what behaviors made the biggest difference in driving growth in midsized firms. Through years of client engagements and hundreds of interviews, he noticed a pattern… there are three areas of focus and nine drivers of growth that make the biggest difference. In addition to "Driving Midsized Growth - People", Robert regularly contributes to Forbes and The Harvard Business Review and is the author of two other books: "The Feel of the Deal; How I Built a Company through Acquisitions" and Mighty Midsized Companies - How Leaders Overcome 7 Silent Growth Killers". He is a San Francisco Bay Area native and an alumnus of Hayward State University with an MBA from St. Mary’s College in Moraga, California where he has taught MBA courses. He and his wife Renee have two grown children. They still live in the Bay Area where he enjoys sailing, hiking, and travel.
