Robert B. Routt is the author of Almost Gone: A True Story of Survival, Coma, and a Second Chance, a deeply personal memoir about family, faith, survival, and second chances. Robert grew up in Kentucky working in his family's restaurant. He went on to serve in the U.S. Navy Seabees, raise a family, and become a successful businessman. Then his world changed dramatically, when pain and prescription medication dependence led to a near-fatal medical crisis. He survived a three-and-a-half-week coma and faced a long road through rehabilitation, lasting physical challenges, and the difficult work of rebuilding his life. Today Robert shares his story to show what can happen when you're given another chance to live, not to dwell on what nearly took his life. He hosts the Almost Gone Podcast and lives in Clearwater, Florida.

Sometimes surviving is only the beginning.
