I am Robert Milbank. In my youth, I wasn’t provided with the kind of financial literacy that truly prepares you for the real world. That’s not a criticism of my parents—they simply didn’t know what they didn’t know. To her credit, my mother did try to teach us responsibility through a chore chart, and for a while, we stuck to it. But beyond earning a few dollars for chores, I never really learned how money worked—how to budget, save, invest, or plan for the future. Looking back, I realize most of my friends were in the same boat. None of us had conversations about saving, spending wisely, credit cards, interest rates, or the power of compound savings. When I started earning my own money, I made the same mistakes many young adults make—I spent every paycheck as soon as it hit my account, had no savings, and didn’t think twice about the future. Debt crept in quietly and stayed far too long. It wasn’t just a financial burden, it weighed on my confidence and limited my choices. Over time, I’ve seen this pattern repeat itself in so many young people stepping into adulthood. They take on student loans they barely understand, take on credit card debt that will hang with them for a long time, live paycheck to paycheck, and feel anxious about money because no one ever showed them how to manage it wisely. I want to change that narrative. My goal is to give you the knowledge and tools I wish I had when I was younger—clear, trustworthy guidance that helps you make smart financial decisions, avoid unnecessary mistakes, and build a life of confidence and freedom. Financial literacy isn’t just about money, it’s about choices, independence, and creating the future you deserve.
