Robert Johnston is a multi-disciplinary artist, musician, and educator whose work lives at the crossroads of creativity, language, and modern technology. Originally from Cullman, Alabama and now based in Montreal, Quebec, he has spent his life exploring how different forms of expression—music, visual art, storytelling, and communication—connect and shape the way we learn and experience the world. As Co-Director of the Center for Arts and Languages of Montreal, Robert develops practical, engaging programs that bring together language learning, music, and the visual arts. His teaching style leans heavily on real-world application—helping learners move past theory and into confident, everyday use of their skills. Over the years, he has worked as a performing guitarist, composer, painter, graphic designer, and instructor, with experience ranging from jazz bands and live performances to fine art exhibitions and curriculum design. His visual artwork, including his “Stereo Realism” technique, has earned international recognition, while his work in music education has helped students of all ages build confidence and creativity. As a self-published author, Robert has created a three-volume conversational language series, along with multiple guitar method books designed to make learning intuitive and accessible. His books and audiobooks now expand into a broader range of topics, including language learning, the arts (music, acting, writing, and film), and emerging areas like AI tools, digital creativity, and the evolving “vibe coding” landscape. Across everything he creates, one idea stays constant: learning should feel alive, practical, and creatively empowering.
