Robert lives in Kingston, Ontario, where he is a dedicated father, husband, educator, coach, and lifelong martial artist. He began training in martial arts in 1986—drawn by a love of ninja movies and the need to defend himself from bullies. Since then, he has trained hundreds of students and devel- oped national champions in the art of Taekwondo. At 51, Robert continues to train and compete in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu alongside his children, Caleb, and Mila. He runs the Jung Do Martial Arts Academy, where martial arts becomes a vehicle for teaching youth powerful life skills. Robert holds a Master of Education degree from Queen’s University and now works with organizations to provide coaching and consulting, helping leaders integrate essential human skills into their workplace culture.
