Richard Tedeschi is Professor of Psychology at University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He has a clinical psychology practice as well, and has for over 35 years treated many survivors of various life crises and traumas. He and his colleague Lawrence Calhoun coined the term "posttraumatic growth" and researched how people can be transformed in the aftermath of trauma, publishing scores of professional articles and books on the topic. Dr. Tedeschi trains doctoral students in psychology and also provides workshops on posttraumatic growth for professionals and lay people.
