In 1965, the Peace Corps sent me to Senegal, and my life changed forever. I spent the next twenty years living and working overseas, in some very interesting places, where the exotic slowly turns into the everyday. I wanted to set some of this down in story form, so I created some quirky characters, wound them up, and then watched what they did. The results sometimes surprised even me.
