Rebecca Frankel is the author of New York Times best-selling WAR DOGS: Tales of Canine Heroism, History, and Love and INTO THE FOREST: A Holocaust Story of Survival, Triumph, and Love which was named one of "The Ten Best History Books of 2021" by Smithsonian magazine, and a 2021 National Jewish Book Award finalist. Frankel is a longtime editor and journalist and was formerly executive editor of Foreign Policy’s print magazine, and managing editor of Moment magazine.She has been a guest on Conan, PBS NewsHour, BBC World News, and the Diane Rehm Show, among others. Her written work has appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, National Graphic, The Washington Post, and elsewhere. Rebecca's feature article "The Story of Dyngo, a War Dog Brought Home from Combat," about the retired Air Force bomb-sniffing dog she adopted in 2016, appeared in Smithsonian magazine's "America at War" issue.
