Rebecca A. Russell writes historical fiction that explores generational secrets, buried truths, and the tension between what is recorded and what is endured. A military brat, she spent her childhood in Kansas, Nebraska, Japan, Hawaii, and Virginia, and most of her adulthood in North Carolina before settling on thirteen wooded acres in rural New Jersey with her family… and five black bears. The bears were not part of the original plan. She is also the founder of BeespokeVintage, where she recreates historical clothing and preserves vintage patterns—because one project is never quite enough. Rebecca holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from North Carolina State University, earned two master’s degrees in education from George Mason University, and completed her MBA at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
