Penny Fields-Schneider is an Australian author of historical fiction inspired by art, place, and the emotional lives of her characters. Originally a registered nurse before moving into teaching, she later immersed herself in the art world—studying painting, visiting galleries, and researching artists across Europe. She is the author of the Portraits in Blue series (beginning with The Sun Rose in Paris) and the standalone novel The Woman Who Painted the Seasons. She also writes the Tilly Whitewood Bush Nurse Mysteries, a cosy mystery series set in rural New South Wales that draws on local history and her nursing background, beginning with Murder at Lalor Station.
