Paul Dean (Ph.D. Washington State University) resides in Issaquah Washington. He inherited a love of history from his mother Marcia and an interest in soldier’s experiences from his Grandfathers who served in World War II. While doing research for his master’s thesis on Woodrow Wilson’s leadership in World War I he discovered the fascinating papers of Roy Blanchard. That discovery fueled his decades long research and writing about World War 1. Paul is the author of “Courage: Roy Blanchard’s Journey in America’s Forgotten War.” Courage has been an Amazon “Hot New Release” and has been ranked #2 on Amazon’s ratings for World War 1 Biographies (Kindle Edition). He also frequently speaks at community events including Veterans Day observances and Non-Profit fundraisers. He is married and has 4 children, including one Marine.
