Paola Mina-Osorio is a Hispanic physician-scientist specializing in immunology research, focusing on discovering and developing new treatments for autoimmune diseases.

Embracing her identity as an immigrant physician-scientist and driven by her own journey in medicine and science in the U.S., she is passionate about supporting Hispanic/Latino students who want to become doctors and scientists. She knows the struggles they face, like imposter syndrome, a lack of role models, family support, and language barriers, but she believes these challenges can lead to growth and success. Paola encourages young students to embrace their unique stories, overcome obstacles, and become leaders in their communities. She shows them that their diverse backgrounds are strengths that can help them achieve their dreams.

In her books, Paola shares powerful stories that highlight why equal representation in science and medicine matters. Get ready to be inspired by amazing Hispanic/Latinx doctors and scientists who have overcome huge challenges to show us that sí se puede! Let their journeys light a fire in you, pushing you to chase your dream of becoming a doctor, no matter what obstacles come your way.

Paola is also the founder of an organization that creates educational content for English as a second language (ESL) students. It also raises awareness of the lack of Hispanic physicians in the U.S. by publishing books about Hispanics in medicine and science. Her work can be found on her website, and on social media and the platform "Medium" @undoctorporfavor.
