Born, raised, and educated in Manila, Philippines. I immigrated to the US in the 1970s at the age of 24. With a lot of hard work and a bit of luck, I was able to make my own American dream come true. One marriage, one child, and one divorce later, led me to forge a whole new path as a single mother. I worked my way up the corporate ladder as an accountant while raising my daughter and eventually helping her graduate college. I thought that I would sail into retirement, but life had something else in store for me. Enter cancer, 6 different times. I have been interviewed and been the subject of a few articles about what has happened to me over the years. But, I wanted to tell my story myself, so I decided to start typing away on my laptop and write a book (as a first-time author) about my cancer journey.
