Nina Wachsman graduated from Parsons School of Design where she studied illustration with Maurice Sendak. Art is a theme in many of her stories, including "The Gallery of Beauties", her debut novel of historical suspense, the first in the Venice Beauties set in 17th Century Venice and an Agatha Award Finalist for Best First Novel. The second book in the series, "The Courtesan's Secret" was a Silver Falchion Finalist , and the third, "The Courtesan's Pirate" was published in September, 2024 and was an Anthony and Chaucer Award Finalist for Best Historical Mystery.
