Nicki Geigert is a travel adventure writer and an award-winning author of children's picture and travel books. Nicki has published eight books and has recently been selected as a Book Excellence Award honoree. Nicki is also a travel adventure and nature photographer whose fine art photography has been featured in gallery exhibitions as well as Fodor’s Travel Guides. She has photographed on all seven continents, and her mission is to document disappearing animal species, natural spaces, and traditional cultures. Nicki has written several "armchair adventure" books featuring some of the cultures she has visited, as well as animals she has encountered over the years. Nicki developed her interest in photography at a young age, taking photographs around her hometown. This interest grew when Nicki’s Master’s degree in early childhood education and fitness coaching allowed her to travel as she became a sought-after education consultant. Over the years, her interest in photography became a passion as she traveled around the world. Nicki’s experiences traveling to destinations near and far taught her that beauty is everywhere but that many places are not protecting the environment or the animals that live there. She believes that we must be responsible stewards of the earth— and all the wonders it holds. Because she has been witness to the destruction and exploitation of cultures and wildlife throughout the world, Nicki’s mission has been to document the world's wonders, and that is what drives her passion. Her passion for the cultures, animals, and landscapes she has encountered during her travels has inspired her to write about her adventures, uniting her passion for both photography and travel. For Nicki, combining photography and the written word in travel and adventure books seems a natural fit.
