Nelson Peña is an award-winning writer and editor with a focus on creating empowering work that improves people’s lives. As the former editorial director of special publications for top wellness media brands such as Prevention, Men’s Health and Women’s Health, he has initiated and edited more than 150 publications that have sold over 12 million copies at newsstands. These include The Mindfulness Manual, 99 Ways to Live to 100, Walk Away Anxiety, the Essential Guide to Self-Care, Eat Clean, Instant Calm, Sugar Detox Made Easy, Simplify Your Life, Age Joyfully, Muscle After 40, Herbal Remedies, Relieve Anxiety Naturally, Detox Your Body & Home, Arms & Abs, 30-Minute Workouts, the Complete Guide to Running, No Gym Required, Yoga Now and many others. He is the former editorial director and publisher of Mountain Bike and Bicycling magazines, and launch editor of REI’s recent outdoor magazine, Uncommon Path. He led a team that created content for a wide variety of leading brands and organizations, including Whole Foods Market, Disney, Anheuser-Busch, Panera, Westin Hotels, Waldorf-Astoria, Nissan, Optum Health, the Prevent Cancer Foundation, Johns Hopkins Health, the National Academy of Sports Medicine, Nutrisystem, Kellogg's, Claritin, Tylenol, Merck, Sanofi, Mead Johnson, AstraZeneca, 24 Hour Fitness, Nestle, Walmart, MSN.com, Athene, Salomon, Kraft, Dole, and many others. Nelson edited and contributed to Hallmark books, "50 Truths Worth Knowing" and "50 Things That Really Matter," as well as the Rodale book, "100 Smart Choices: Easy Ideas for Living Healthier and Happier." Nelson is also a managing partner for Green Leaf Communications, which produces compelling storytelling and explanatory content in the cannabis/CBD market. He lives in Brick, New Jersey with his wife and family.
