Mike Shultz is an author, speaker, husband, father, and longtime encourager for people facing fear, suffering, disability, and seasons of uncertainty. After surviving a childhood marked by instability and trauma, Mike discovered a passion for tree climbing—until December 23, 1980, when a seventy-foot fall left him paralyzed from the chest down.

Rather than allowing that moment to define him by what he lost, Mike built a life around faith, perseverance, and what came next. Over the years, he competed in wheelchair racing, pursued adaptive skiing, served in disability ministry and vocational training, and became a mentor and advocate for others walking through hardship.
Mike also built a successful professional career as an Enterprise Performance Management Architect, leading large-scale initiatives for major organizations. Yet his deepest story is not professional achievement, but redemption, resilience, and the sustaining love of God.

Mike and his wife, Laurie, with their two adopted daughters from China, Lucie and Joanna, built the loving, stable home he never knew as a child. Through every season, Mike remains convinced that God uses even the hardships, failures, victories, and unexpected detours of life to prepare us for today.
