Michael attributes his passion for writing multicultural novels to his military service, which took him to five continents and introduced him to the good people of many nations, cultures, races, and religions. Captain Michael Wright, a retired Air Force officer, served as a meteorologist. He forecasted weather in areas ranging from the Amazon jungle in South America to the Space Shuttle program. Michael also taught National Security at Bowling Green State University in Ohio as an Assistant Professor. Fluent in Spanish, in addition to English, Michael has worked in many countries in Central and South America as well as Spain. He lived in the Republic of Panama for six years, where he met his wife, Dalys.
