Michael Vianin (MSc, DC) is a chiropractor with a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Sciences who has almost twenty years of experience working with people who suffer from musculoskeletal (MSK) pain. He specializes in the management of complex cases, including post-operative care. Michael also has extensive teaching experience in the rehabilitation of MSK disorders and in mentoring interns and residents. Starting his career as a member of a multidisciplinary spinal pain team in Fribourg in Switzerland, Michael was also a Team Chiropractor with HC Fribourg-Gottéron, a professional, Swiss ice hockey team, and engaged to lecture in Active Rehabilitation at Zurich University’s Faculty of Medicine. Michael currently balances his roles as expert examiner and reviewer of Federal Chiropractic Examinations, Team Chiropractor and Head of the Concussion Unit (HC Fribourg-Gottéron), Staff Physician with Clinique Générale, Supervising Clinician with CHUV (University Hospital in Lausanne), and Chiropractic Physician at his own private practice in Fribourg. Michael has a keen interest in the unique qualities of each of his patients. His drive to continue learning about the clinical usefulness of the impact of patient dispositions on symptoms presentation and treatment outcomes has brought him to share his knowledge and experience with readers through Dispositionalism in Musculoskeletal Care. Combining his passion for his career with his love for his family and an active, outdoor lifestyle, Michael believes the important lessons in life can come in many different ways. It is only when we have the courage to embrace each moment, keep an open mind to change, and maintain our enthusiasm to learn, that we will reap the benefits of constructive change.
