Michael Magoon received a BA in History from University of California at Berkeley and a PhD in Political Science and Public Policy from Brown University. He then taught university courses for the following three years. Feeling restless with the staid academic life, Magoon decided to make a career change and entered the rapidly growing field of digital technology.Starting as a Technical Writer and then a User Experience Designer, Magoon has worked for some of the biggest and most innovative technology companies in the world, including Microsoft, Apple, Intel, Oracle and Verizon. While working in the technology field, he continued reading books about a wide variety of topics including science, geography, technology, culture and history. Magoon’s background in both academia and technology corporations has given him a unique viewpoint on progress and how it effects our lives.
