Michael D. James is considered by at least 4 people to be the official First Gen X'er. Born mere days before the Jan. 1, 1965 arbitrary start of the Gen X cohort, he is definitely NOT the Last Boomer. His memoirs: "Requiem for Recess", reached #19 on the Amazon Best Seller list...coming in just behind a few adult coloring books. He enjoys listening to Boston, Talking Heads and Pink Floyd, and spends his evenings after work watching his Irwin Allen DVD collection of Lost in Space, Land of the Giants and The Time Tunnel. He is the proud father of 3 Gen Z kids, who spend most of their time not in their big back yard (which is why he bought a house with a big back yard) but on their iPhones watching videos and playing on apps.
