Michael Hirsch is co-founder of Start Sabbath and a passionate leader dedicated to helping the next generation discover their potential. With over 25 years of nonprofit leadership experience, he has founded and led organizations that have reached tens of thousands of students across multiple states and countries, creating innovative programs that teach leadership, character development, and entrepreneurship. An ORU graduate and world championship Ironman triathlete, Michael has completed 19 Ironman races, including the prestigious world championship in Kona, Hawaii. He speaks regularly to community groups and schools, inspiring people to recognize the capacity within students to innovate and solve real-world problems. Michael's journey from high-performance athlete to advocate for sacred rest began when he discovered that sustainable achievement flows from communion with God rather than endless striving. He and his wife Selah have been married for nearly 20 years and live with their four children—Nya, Anchor, Tinsley, and Asher.
