Michael DeVinney is an author, analyst, and philosopher whose work advances a unified framework integrating natural law, human action, and spontaneous order to explain the foundations of society. He writes from the conviction that every just system of law, economics, and politics must arise from the nature of man rather than legislative decree.

Following years of recovery and reflection after surviving a stroke and subsequent brain surgeries, Michael published Pure Political Philosophy: Natural Law and Sulaocracy, introducing his original concept of Sulaocracy—a term derived from the Greek sulao (“to plunder”) and kratos (“rule”) to describe political systems sustained through expropriation. He later expanded those ideas in Lex Naturalis before bringing them together in The Architecture of Human Action, which presents a comprehensive first-principles framework uniting economics, law, ethics, and political philosophy.

His work is influenced by Ludwig von Mises, Murray Rothbard, Hans-Hermann Hoppe, Friedrich Nietzsche, and Thomas Sowell. Whether writing philosophy, economics, or children’s books that teach confidence, discipline, and respect through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, his aim remains the same: to help readers think from first principles and better understand the principles that govern human action, freedom, and social order.
