Michael Burton, a.k.a. Michael Anderson, M.D., has been practicing orthopedic surgery for more than 30 years in Southern Utah, specializing in reconstructive surgery of the hip, knee and shoulder. Michael has loved writing, having been inspired by an older brother, Timothy Burton Anderson, also a published author/screenwriter (Reign of the Stavka, Too Close to Kill).

When not writing or practicing medicine he can be found dangling from ice or rock. Though happily married, his wife points out that Michael tends to sleep better and smile more when on a slab of ice in Antarctica or above 20,000’ in the Himalayas.

It is his lifelong work in medicine and the observing of the human response to the stress of extreme outdoor activities that Michael has found inspiration for many of his tales. Like planes on a tarmac in line to take off, the stories are just waiting to be written.
