Meryl Ain is a writer, author, podcaster, and career educator. She is a sought-after speaker and has been interviewed on television, radio, and podcasts. Her newest book, Remember To Eat and Other Stories will be published in January 2026. Her novel, Shadows We Carry, received two awards, including the 2023 Best Book Awards Winner in Historical Fiction. It is the sequel to The Takeaway Men, her award-winning debut novel, which was published in 2020. Her articles and essays have appeared in numerous publications, and she is the author of two nonfiction books. The host of the podcast People of the Book, she is also the founder of the Facebook group Jews Love To Read! The group currently has more than 5,550 members. Meryl holds a BA from Queens College, an MA from Columbia University, and a doctorate in education from Hofstra University. She and her husband, Stewart, a journalist, live on Long Island and spend the winters in Florida. They have three married sons and six grandchildren.
