Straight outta’ Westwood… Melvin L. Jones is a native of Warrensville Heights, Ohio. A suburb on the East Side of Cleveland, Ohio; near the inner city. After graduating from high school at Gates Mills Hawken, he attended the University of Virginia’s College at Wise and the University of Akron. Since giving up his athletic endeavors, he returned to Warrensville Heights to be an educator in the school system he grew up in. Even though he hung up his football cleats and track shoes, he stayed connected to athletics by becoming an official to numerous interscholastic and summer sports; including being an umpire at the fame Cooperstown Dreams Park 12u Tournament. An experience that inspired him to write his novel, “Park Dreams”. He is the proud father of two strong-minded young ladies and a young man who is full of character and moxie. From his numerous travails and life experiences, he deems that he does not write novels; instead, “I paint vivid pictures; not for you to read or see, but for you to experience… one chapter at a time.”
