Maureen Carter

Maureen Carter is the creator of two critically acclaimed crime series. The first DS Bev Morriss novel - Working Girls - appeared in 2001. There are now eleven titles available; the latest - Overkill - was published in August 2018. Seven books in the series are also available in audio format and are narrated by the award winning Clare Corbett. Carter introduced DI Sarah Quinn to readers in A Question of Despair, published in 2011. Next of Kin is the latest title in the Quinn series. Carter has worked in newspapers and on radio and is a former BBC TV news reporter, presenter and producer. Her books reflect what she sees as the complex and fascinating relationship between the police and the media during major crime investigations.
