Matt Queen (BA, Mars Hill College; MDiv and PhD, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary) serves as Lead Pastor of Friendly Avenue Baptist Church in Greensboro, North Carolina, as well as an evangelism specialist for the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention. He is the former occupant of the historic L. R. Scarborough Chair of Evangelism ("Chair of Fire") at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Queen has written several books, most notably Recapturing Evangelism: A Biblical and Theological Approach (B&H Academic, 2023), as well as co-authoring with O. S. Hawkins the 2023 Outreach Magazine Evangelism Resource of the Year, The Gospel Invitation: Why Publicly Inviting People to Receive Christ Still Matters (Thomas Nelson, 2023).
