Marybeth Lorbiecki is an award-winning author whose themes explore our relationships to each other, to the natural world of which we are a part, and to God. These interests led her to write books for adults about the conservationist Aldo Leopold and the ecological teachings of Ssints John Paul II and Francis, and Pope Francis. She also loves writing for children. She began as a children's book editor long ago and now has written over twenty-five books of fiction and nonfiction for young readers. She's presently the director of the Interfaith Ocean Ethics Campaign, which is working to make people of faith aware of their calling to care for all creation, but specifically ocean peoples, systems and species. www.oceanethicscampaign.org Because of her extensive research on the ecological teachings of St. John Paul II, the Pontifical Council of Justice and Peace has consulted with her. Her professional career has spanned being a book editor, university professor, freelance writer, marketing communication writer, and more. She has an M.A. in English and spent an additional post-graduate year studying philosophy in a global dorm in England as an International Rotarian Scholar. She now lives in Hudson, Wisconsin with her husband, son, dogs, cats, and chickens. Her daughters have already flown the coop for college.
