After majoring in History in college and earning a Masters in Library Science and one in History, Mary Ann Trail worked as an academic librarian, teaching students about the joys and pitfalls of research.
Fanning her interest in history with frequent trips to the United Kingdom, she strolled Regency Bath, followed Roman roads in Wales and wandered prehistoric mounds in Dorset.
Mary Ann still lives with her husband, in southern New Jersey, near the University at which she worked. Her novels are set in the early 19th century (1800-1810), chosen for its’ similarities to the push and pull of today's politics.
Importantly, she sets her novels in places she has actually been.
