Mark Schaefer is a writer, editor, teacher, attorney, pastor, and language scholar. He is a freelance editor and writer and the author of several books including Religious, Not Spiritual, The Certainty of Uncertainty, The Good News According to Mark, and the science fiction novel Delivering the Commonwealth. In addition to his writing and editing work, he currently pastors the ecumenical Congregation of St. Thomas the Doubter. With over two decades of ministry experience in collegiate and local church contexts, he has also served as an adjunct professor at the undergraduate and seminary levels, teaching courses in Religion, New Testament, and Biblical Greek. Mark received his B.A. and M.A. in Russian Language and Literature from the State University of New York, University at Albany, a J.D. from George Washington University, and an M.Div. from Wesley Theological Seminary.
