Mark Burrows is poet, translator, teacher, and scholar. Well known for his work on medieval mysticism and the intersection of poetry and spirituality, he is in demand as a retreat leader across the US and in the UK, Europe and Australia. His recent books include: “You Are the Future: Living the Questions with Rainer Maria Rilke” (co-authored with Stephanie Dowrick, 2024); "Meister Eckhart's Book of Darkness and Light" (co-authored with Jon M. Sweeney, a volume that was awarded the Gold Medal by the Nautilus Book Awards in 2024); a translation of Rilke’s “Sonnets to Orpheus” (2024); and "The Wandering Radiance: Selected Poems of Hilde Domin" (2023). He is Poetry Editor for Wildhouse Publishing and for the journal “Spiritus” and is a core faculty member of Whitworth University’s MFA in Creative Writing. He lives and writes in Camden, Maine.
