Maria Denison is the independent author of The Reflex series, a genre-braiding series that combines psychological suspense, espionage, mystery, complicated relationships, wit and irreverent humor with the preternatural. A lifelong traveler with an enduring curiosity about history, science, and the wonderfully strange corners of human behavior, Denison draws inspiration from the places she visits and the things she discovers along the way. Her fiction incorporates extensive research, including historical and scientific material and declassified information involving government projects and agencies. Denison writes layered stories populated by imperfect adults, long-held secrets, unexpected connections, and details that may prove far more important than they first appear. The Reflex and The Reaction are the first two books in the five-book Reflex series. When she isn't writing or traveling, Denison lives in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she continues to wonder why anyone expects her books to fit neatly into a single genre.
