Born and educated in the Potteries, Margaret Kaine now lives in Eastbourne. Her short stories have been published widely in women's magazines in the UK, and also in Australia, Norway, South Africa and Ireland. Her debut novel, Ring of Clay, now re-published by HarperCollins Avon with the title A MOTHER'S REGRET, won both the RNA's New Writer's Award in 2002 and the Society of Authors' Sagittarius Prize in 2003. Avon are re-issuing all seven of her family sagas as THE POTTERIES GIRLS series, to be released during the latter half of 2026.  A romantic suspense novel, Dangerous Decisions, set in the Edwardian era against a more cosmopolitan background was published by Choc Lit. The Black Silk Purse, and A Life of Secrets were published by Allison & Busby.
