Marco Vanoppen is a Belgian musician and sound artist whose work spans avant-garde music, experimental music, improvisation, industrial soundscapes, and experimental art. He has been a founding member of several underground music projects and has also created distinctive visual work for music videos and other musical projects.

His research and writing focus on avant-garde and underground music, radical music history, and the relationship between sound, visual culture, and graphic design. Through his long involvement in experimental music and art, Vanoppen offers an insider perspective on the development of alternative and underground cultural movements.

Alongside his artistic and research activities, Vanoppen spent the majority of his professional career as an attaché for the Belgian government.
