The author is in the Dealmakers Hall of Fame, and created and taught the "Street Smart Startups" course at UC Berkeley. He’s a veteran negotiator and mentor capitalist with billions of dollars of buying, selling, and financing disruptive businesses in SF, LA, and Cleveland. He co-founded digital healthcare software company Within3 (sold to global PE powerhouse, Insight Partners).

Marc's the Managing Partner/ Founder of early-stage investor Blue Mesa Partners, as well as The Mentor-at-Large for The House Funds. He was first checkwriter and EVP of Divergent 3D (transformative manufacturing technology). Marc was also the first outside investor (as well as Senior Advisor) to LoungeBuddy (travel app; sold to American Express).

His eclectic perspective reflects a background as a founder and co-founder, CEO, Managing Partner, Director, Counsel, and Strategic Advisor.

Marc served as a Director of public companies and private companies including Within3, CardinalCommerce, Mr. Gasket Co., Cohesant, Unite Genomics, and Cadence Counsel (Chairman), and is a long-time director of the Rock Hall.

Previously he was a nationally prominent deal attorney, and CEO and Managing Partner of an entrepreneurial law firm. He holds a B.A. in American Social History from Yale University and a J.D. from Boston University School of Law.
